SW4 2010 DAY ONE: SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST
JUST ADDED!
ALEX METRIC [LIVE] / CHRIS LAKE / TIMO GARCIA / CONNECTED ALLSTARS / NICOLE MOUDABER
Set to join the impeccable line-up on Saturday 28th August which crowns Armin Van Buuren as headliner, are some of electronic music’s freshest sounding DJ’s. Right off the back of supporting the much adored Swedish House Mafia for a sell out show at the Brixton Academy, Alex Metric will be showcasing why he has earned the reputation as one of the most exciting young DJ’s working today. Complimenting the Metric on the main stage will be Chris Lake, who has earned a considerable amount of admirers world-wide with his individual electro-pop crossover productions and deep dark DJ sets. With a confirmed residency in Ibiza this summer alongside Deadmau5 at the incredible Amnesia, we are extremely excited that Lake has taken time out of his busy schedule to join us at SW4.
Taking to the Ministry of Sound stage will be the highly sought-after remixer, engineer and producer extraordinaire Timo Garcia, who is consistently shaking up dance floors and sound systems in some of the globes finest cities. Carl Cox’s favourite up-and-coming DJ of 2009 Nicole Moudaber will be showing us exactly what we have been missing out on with her feminine touch of seductive rhythms blended with deep techno that is sure to ignite the Bedrock Worldwide Arena. Add to this the delectable Connected All Stars on the Toolroom Knights stage, then we think it is safe to assume that Saturday’s line-up just got notched up a bar or two.
SW4 2010 DAY TWO: SUNDAY 29TH AUGUST
JUST ADDED!
UFFIE [LIVE] / PLASTICIAN / THOMAS GANDEY (CAGEDBABY) / UNION DJS / JON RUNDELL
With a strong, sturdy line-up already certified for the debut second day of this year’s South West Four Weekender, you may be questioning what we could possibly have hidden up our musical sleeves. In order to increase the heat that will be created by the likes of Fatboy Slim, Salt ‘N’ Pepa, Carl Cox and Boys Noize we welcome five awesome acts to Sunday’s proceedings...
The feisty ‘Pop The Glock’ famed Uffie will be gracing us with her seductive presence on the main stage. Signed to Ed Banger Records in 2006, Uffie has since had a favourable four years, banging out tracks like there is no tomorrow and collaborating with the highly acclaimed likes of Justice and Pharrell Williams. With the recent release of her debut album ‘Sex, Dreams and Denim Jeans’, SW4 is eager to let her loose on Clapham Common. Another welcome addition to the focal arena will be Southern Fried Records DJ and Producer Thomas Gandey, who is more popularly recognised under the creative guise of Cagedbaby. With a trademark DJ style of tough techno fused with funky nu disco and being labelled as ‘one to watch’, we highly recommend you include this master of the decks on your Sunday schedule.
Contributing to the eclectic sounds of the Together arena will be DJ and Producer Plastician, who has risen to popularity with the ever emerging growth of dubstep and grime. Aiding in the explosion of the dubstep scene with both his own primetime slot on Rinse FM and a recent residency on Radio One’s ‘In New DJ’s We Trust’, Plastician will intensify Sunday’s line-up to great amounts. Assisting in the Together chaos will be the budding Union DJs who play host to the stage. Managing to take over the student world with their club night Union and a summer schedule filled with Ibizan slots, the boys look set to impress with an individual set that is certified to be a crowd pleaser.
The final addition to the Sunday frivolities of the South West Four Weekender come from Jon Rundell, who will be joining Carl Cox and friends on the DJ Mag stage. Fusing almost any kind of electronic music, Rundell’s unique but diverse blend of sounds has won him many admirers across the globe, with his next successive stop set for Clapham Common.
