For a long time Shoreditch / Old St has been the mecca for all the cool club kids in town but things are about to change as The White House launches Out The Box a new series of monthly club nights bringing some of the coolest DJs and live acts on the planet direct to their South London venue.

Heading up the launch party in August will be the legendary Detroit Grand Pubahs performing a classic booty bass and inspirations set. Combing electro, hip hop and booty bass with a good dose of humour the Pubah’s have become synonymous with good time party tunes leading with their 2000 debut Sandwiches which catapulted them onto the global scene. Following the release of their debut album Funk All Y’all, more singles followed including The Clapper and Big Onion (Poker Flat Records) and their classic second album Galactic Ass Creatures from Uranus. Having released their third album Nuttin’ Butt Funk at the end of 2008, The DGP’s have been smashing raves across the planet and we’re proud to be the first club south of the river to being their unique brand of party-funk to the club!

Second on the bill sees one of the UK’s leading stars Toddla T drop by to smash up the place with his trademark bastard dancehall party bangers. Hailing from Sheffield this young prodigy has just dropped his debut album Skanky Skanky on 1965 Records featuring collaborations with Herve’, Tinchy Strider, Roots Manuva and many more. Mixing dancehall riddims, electronic bleeps, bass and nuff MCs Toddla has blasted up the musical tree to sit firm as one of the UK’s leading producers at present!

Backing up the charge in the main room sees electro duo Disco Of Doom drop by to smash up the place hot on the heals of their second release Warpig release via New York’s Coco Machete records alongside remixes for Etienne De Cracy, Fukkk Offf and Si Begg, this duo are ones to watch this year.

Last but not least king of the nu-cool Hot City brings his post-rave sound to the main room. Voted No.76 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 to Watch in 2009 and following releases on Ramp, High Point Lowlife and Infrasonics Records and remixes forthcoming on Universal alongside club dates at Fabric and beyond.

Upstairs plays host to East London party crew Wifey featuring Love’s Tru Flavour and DJ Hard Target dropping the best in bassline, 4/4 and funky with a dash of grime where needed to keep the party moving. Joining the Wifey DJs will be Last.fm DJ Team dropping bombs like Lebanon.

The White House is South London’s leading club, opened in 1999, the club has played host to some of the biggest DJs on the planet alongside parties from the best labels and clubbing brands. Their new flagship event Out The Box sees the venue answer the call for a decent party south of the river featuring DJs you’d normally associate with trips out east.
