Djoust DJ Champion 2007

 Djoust DJ Champion 2007

Details:

Two hundred people absolutely tore up the Whitehouse on Friday night, entertained by eight awesome DJs.
Guests were D-Joust favorite Dom C who warmed up a tough crowd pre-competition and did a great job as always. Kicking it after the action was none other than last year's winner and rising electronic super star Janette Slack. Now I don't know what it is about Janette but not only does she always look fantastic, but her tunes and sheer presence behind the decks always blow me away! Awesome job babe you rocked it!

Anyway, down to the nitty. Six competition DJs, hand selected from 400 and battle hardened from 3 months of D-Joust action, no less than graced the decks on Friday night. D-Joust is a winner takes all competition but there were only 4 points separating the top 3.

Without further ado I'm extremely proud to announce, our winner, and the 2007 D-Joust CHAMPION WAS:

......DR FISH!

Our warmest congratulations go to the scratch master and all round nice guy that is Ben Matthews from Bournemouth. His performances throughout the competition have been no less than superb and we hope to see a lot more of him on the circuit in the coming years.
He's already been out and about smashing it up on the main stage at the BPM DJ Exhibition this Sunday as part of his prize. He'll no doubt be appearing at a club near you very soon.
In third place was Paulie_P from Southampton, and a very close second was Tom EQ from Grimsby. Congratulations to all six DJs, Mini Da Minx, Martin Holden from Welfare for the Digital and Andy Roze who performed valiantly and were all great and deserved finalists.

Live recordings will be available in the downloads section on the site soon. Also if you're interested in booking Ben for your night then drop an email to danny@fruityloopy.com and we'll put you in touch.

Special thanks go out to everyone involved, co-director Jim, Jenny for her invaluable help throughout the competition. All the competition DJs and guests, finals pro spotter Peds and all the others pro and normal spotters. Our sponsors DJDownload.com, 16 Steps, The BPM DJ Exhibition and Berwick Street Records. Our designers Capsule01 and Zoe and Bugbitten for all our PR. Dave Joyce, Dave Minns, Alex Parsons, John James, our finals judges, as well as all the other judges and guest promotions who gave up their time. Clive, Anita, Aaron, Carolina and all the bar staff at the Whitehouse, you've all been great. Not forgetting the dedicated Jousters, you've been all been wicked (special mention to the Grimbsy and Bournemouth massif ;0). Anyone else who I've forgotten, apologies.

The D-Joust has made its mark on the clubbing scene in no uncertain terms and IS the best and one of the most respected competitions in the UK. Lots of people have been asking if we're back in 2008. Nothing's set in stone but the flyers for the 2008 campaign arrived this morning so I've got a feeling we might be seeing you soon ;0)

If you'd like to get involved in the D-Joust in any way, we're looking for people to come on board and get involved with running the event on all levels. We're also actively looking for sponsors for 2008. Contact danny@fruityloopy.com.
